About Me

Mikey is a 18 year old guitarist who enjoys playing many genres both electric and acoustical. He began playing at the age of 9 and by the age of 12 formed his own band.   He enjoys playing Rock'n Roll, Blues, Funk, R&B, Soul, Fusion, and Jazz.   During the summer of 2015 he had his own combo that performed weekly at a local restaurant.  He plays regularly with a local band in the Twin Cities.  He is frequently asked to perform at various other venues around the Twin Cities.  In 2013, 2014 and 2015, Mikey auditioned and was selected to participate in the  prestigious Grammy Camp at USC's Thornton School of Music.   There he was exposed to song writing, music production, the legal aspect of the music industry, as well as performance.  In February 2015 he was selected to be part of an 8 piece Grammy Alumni band.  The band opened for Hunter Hayes at Club Nokia LA Live as part of the official Grammy Week Activities.  October 2015, Mikey played at the Daytona Beach Blues Festival.  While there, he was invited to play on the main stage with Blues great, Kenny Neal.   During the same month, he was selected to play at the Minnesota Guitar Summit. In January 2016,  he was part of the Youth Showcase "Road to Memphis" which represented The MN Blues Society at The International Blues Challenge on Beale Street.  He continues to expand his repertoire, his experience with various venues and genres, and his music education. In the fall of 2016, Mikey started college at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music.
